Singapore specimen notes are also scarce. E.g. only 77 sets of the Orchid specimen notes (from $1 to $100) signed by Mr. Lim Kim San and 311 sets of the Bird specimen sets from $1 to $100 were issued. The Ship Series specimen is also very scarce and also the Portrait Series except for the $10,000 note which were issued with a mintage of 5,000. The $1,000 Specimen Portrait Note was issued in a paperweight block but some smart chap actually broke the glass casing and removed the $1,000 specimen note which has the imprint specimen in holes. It was reported that someone tried to pass off the $1000 specimen note as a genuine note and was caught and a large quantity of the specimen notes were destroyed resulting in the note becoming scarce now.
This is a $1k Portrait Specimen note with matching low number 000061. Mintage for public issue is 450 pieces
